Duradd 46 is a liquid of inorganic salts chelating agents and alkalis, used in etching bath of caustic soda.

Application

  • Duradd 46 is added to caustic etch tank to improve its life and performance. Prevent formation of aluminates in etching tank.
  • Duradd 46 provides matt or satin finish etches to Aluminum during anodizing or pretreatment for powder coating.

Process Sequences

  • Clean & Degrease
  • Rinsing
  • Etching with Caustic Soda & Duradd 46
  • Rinsing
  • Rinsing
  • Desmuting / acid degreaser
  • Anodizing/Chromating process.
  • Rinsing.

Operating Parameters

  • Concentration(w/v%): 2.5 – 3.0 Temperature: 45 – 55 oC Time. 5 to 20 min. Caustic Soda content: 40-80 g/Lit Aluminum Content: 75 – 140 g/Lit Duradd 46 content: 25 – 30 g/Lit

Initial Preparation

  •  Add 25 to 30 kg of Duradd 46 per 1000 liter water bath.
