CMC 2170 P Sodium Bisulfate O2 Scavenger Powder

Product description

CMC 2170 P is unique active and high quality sulfite catalyzed oxygen scavenger to enhance reactivity with oxygen at
lower temperatures and pressures.

Application

CMC 2170 P removal of mineral deposits and minimizing corrosion are two of the most important processes in maintenance of boiler systems. These are done to maximize energy efficiency, lower overall costs, and lengthen the boiler’s shelf life. Corrosion by oxygen in the boiler can be controlled by the addition of CMC 2170 P to the pre-boiler section of the steam generating system. It is generally fed, along with other treatment chemicals, as an aqueous solution to the feed water either just upstream or, preferably, just downstream of the de-aerator, although it is sometimes added into the return lines to scavenge oxygen in the condensate.

Great Value benefits

  • CMC 2170 P is the least expensive and most active (when catalyzed) for lower and medium pressure boilers [up to 600 psig (42 bar abs)], safe to use, easy control and effective against dissolved oxygen

Recommended Use Directions

CMC 2170 P The dosage will vary depending on the amount of dissolved oxygen in the boiler water. A starting dosage of CMC 2170 P is 100 mg/l (100 ppm). CMC 2170 P should continue to be added until desired dissolved oxygen level is reached in the boiler water. The optimum level dose depends on the Temperature, pH, and chemical characteristics of the feed water. Minimum residual levels of sulfite should be between 30-60 ppm, when the boiler is operating below 150 psi.

Theoretical dosing 1 mg/L dissolved oxygen this requires 10 mg/L CMC 2170 P
